Founder & Nurse Practitioner
Laura Rice is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and founder of Precision Performance & Recovery. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing and became a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2023 from Virginia Commonwealth University, building upon an extensive nursing career with experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, and case management.
Outside of medicine, Laura is an active Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Judo athlete. Her experience as both a healthcare provider and athlete has given her a unique perspective on the physical demands of training, injury, and the recovery process.
The vision for Precision Performance & Recovery became especially personal after Laura experienced a significant ACL injury that required surgical reconstruction and a lengthy recovery. Her own journey highlighted a gap that many active adults and athletes experience: rehabilitation and recovery do not necessarily end when formal physical therapy does. Returning to training, rebuilding strength and confidence, managing lingering limitations, and continuing to recover can take much longer.
That experience became the inspiration behind PPR—a place designed to help bridge the gap between injury, recovery, and returning to the activities people love. Laura’s goal is to combine medical knowledge, performance-focused care, and recovery services in an environment that understands athletes because it was created by one.

The Story Behind Precision Performance and Recovery
Precision Performance & Recovery was born from both professional experience and a very personal journey.
As a Family Nurse Practitioner and lifelong athlete, I have spent years caring for people when they are injured, hurting, or trying to regain their health. But it wasn’t until I experienced a significant injury of my own that I truly understood how frustrating the road back can be.
After tearing my ACL and going through surgery and rehabilitation, I experienced firsthand the gap that can exist between being medically “cleared” and actually feeling ready to return to the activities you love. There is a point where traditional treatment may end, but you’re not necessarily finished recovering. You still need to rebuild strength, confidence, mobility, and performance.
That experience became the inspiration for Precision Performance & Recovery.
I wanted to create a place that brings medical knowledge, performance, and recovery together under one roof—a place where athletes and active individuals don’t feel like they have to figure out the next step alone.
PPR was built for the competitive athlete, the weekend warrior, the person coming back from an injury, and anyone who simply wants to keep their body moving and performing at its best.
Because I understand what it feels like to want to get back to the mat, the gym, your sport, or simply the life you love.
That’s why PPR exists: to help you bridge the gap, recover smarter, and keep moving forward.
